Triple-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Copper Embellishments, Glass Rhinestone and Gunmetal-Finished Brass Cupchain and Cat's Eye Glass Cabochons

Necklace

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Four 6-1/2 inch and seven 1-1/2 inch lengths of gunmetal-finished black 2mm cupchain
  • Two 6-1/2 inch lengths of gunmetal-finished black 4mm cupchain
STEP 2
Using the EUROTOOL® hole punch pliers, punch one 1.25mm hole 1/8 inch from the edge on the top left corner of the first copper 33x33x32mm triangle embellishment. Repeat to punch a 1.25mm hole 1/8 inch from the edge on the top right corner of the 33x33x32mm triangle.

Repeat to punch a hole in the top two corners of four copper 33x33x32mm triangle embellishments.

Repeat to punch a hole in all three corners of three copper 27x27x26mm triangle embellishments.

Repeat to punch a hole in the bottom corner of a copper 18x18x18mm triangle embellishment.

Repeat to punch a hole in the center of the opposite straight side of the 18x18x18mm triangle (9mm from the upper right corner). Repeat to punch two holes in a total of three copper 18x18x18mm triangle embellishments.

Repeat to punch a hole in the center of the top straight side (6mm from the upper right corner) of a copper 12x12x12mm triangle embellishment.

Repeat to punch one hole in a total of three copper 12x12x12mm triangle embellishments.
STEP 3
Use a texturing hammer to texture the front and back of the copper 33x33x32mm triangle links and the copper 18x18x18mm triangle links.
STEP 4
Place a copper brad through the punched hole on the top left corner of the first copper 27x27x26mm triangle link and top right corner of the first copper 33x33x32mm triangle link and use a ball peen hammer and a steel block to finish the brad.

Place a copper brad through the punched hole on the top right corner of the first copper 27x27x26mm triangle link and top left corner of the second copper 33x33x32mm triangle link. Finish the brad.

Repeat to alternate one copper 27x27x26mm triangle link positioned on top of one copper 33x33x32mm triangle link for three sets.
STEP 5
Place a copper brad in the punched hole on the bottom corner of the first copper 27x27x26mm triangle link and center hole on the top straight edge of one copper 18x18x18mm triangle link. Finish the brad.

Place a copper brad in the punched hole on the bottom corner of the copper 18x18x18mm triangle link and center hole on the top straight edge of one copper 12x12x12mm triangle link. Finish the brad.

Repeat to attach one 18x18x18mm triangle link and one copper 12x12x12mm triangle embellishment to the remaining two copper 27x27x26mm triangle links.
STEP 6
Mix Devcon® 5 Minute® Epoxy according to manufacturer's instructions. Place a thin layer of adhesive on the back of one cat's eye black 12mm round cabochon. Press the cabochon onto the center of the first copper 27x27x26mm triangle link. Let the adhesive set for 5 minutes. Make sure to use proper ventilation when using this product.

Repeat to attach one cat's eye black 12mm round cabochon to the center of all three copper 27x27x26mm triangle links and the bottom half (position the center of the cabochon 12mm from the bottom corner) of all four copper 33x33x32mm triangle links.
STEP 7
Place a thin layer of adhesive on the back of one 1-1/2 inch length of gunmetal-finished black 2mm cupchain. Carefully attach the cupchain around the cat's eye black 12mm round cabochon on the first copper 27x27x26mm triangle link. Repeat to attach one 1-1/2 inch length of gunmetal-finished black 2mm cupchain around all seven of the cat's eye black 12mm round cabochons.
STEP 8
Place a small dab of Loctite® 454 Gel into the bottom of a gunmetal-finished 2.5x2.5mm cupchain connector. Insert the first cupchain link on a 6-1/2 inch length of black 2mm cupchain. Using flat-nose pliers, gently bend the connector prongs over the cupchain link. Repeat to attach a cupchain connector to the opposite link on the 6-1/2 inch length of black 2mm cupchain.

Repeat to attach a cupchain connector to:
  • The first and last links on all four 6-1/2 inch lengths of black 2mm cupchain
  • The first and last links on two 6-1/2 inch lengths of black 4mm cupchain using a 4.5mm cupchain connector
STEP 9
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open an 8mm jumpring. Pass it through the first loop on the fold-over clasp. Close the jumpring. Slip an 8mm jumpring into the fold-over portion of the clasp.

Open an 8mm jumpring. Pass it through the single loop on the outside of one antiqued copper-plated end bar and the top left corner of the first copper 33x33x32mm triangle link. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the top right corner of the fourth copper 33x33x32mm triangle link to the second antiqued copper-plated end bar.

Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the inside loop of the first heart on the inside of the first end bar. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a 4mm jumpring through the inside loop of the second heart on the inside of the first end bar. Repeat to attach one 4mm jumpring on the inside loop of each of the hearts on the second end bar.
STEP 10
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the jumpring attached to the hole on the fold-over clasp and the connector attached to the first link on one 6-1/2 inch length of black 2mm cupchain. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the connector on the last link of the 6-1/2 inch length of black 2mm cupchain to the first loop on the inside of one antiqued copper-plated end bar.

Repeat to attach the first link on 6-1/2 inch length of black 4mm cupchain to the jumpring on the clasp and the last link on the chain to the center two 4mm jumprings attached to the loops on the hearts on the first end bar.

Repeat to attach the first link on 6-1/2 inch length of black 2mm cupchain to the jumpring on the clasp and the last link on the chain to the second loop on the inside of the first end bar.

Repeat Step 10 to attach the chains to the clasp and the second end bar on the opposite side of the necklace.

Earrings

STEP 1
Using the EUROTOOL hole punch pliers, punch one 1.25mm hole 1/8 inch from the edge, in the center of the top straight side (9mm from the upper right corner) of one copper 18x18x18mm triangle embellishment. Repeat to punch a 1.25mm hole 1/8 inch from the edge on the bottom corner of the 18x18x18mm triangle.

Repeat to punch a hole in the center of the top straight side (6mm from the upper right corner) of a copper 12x12x12mm triangle embellishment.
STEP 2
Use a texturing hammer to texture the front of the copper 18x18x18mm triangle link.
STEP 3
Place a copper brad through the punched hole on the bottom corner of the first copper 18x18x18mm triangle link and punched hole the 12x12x12mm triangle link. Use a ball peen hammer and a steel block to finish the brad.
STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and bent-nose pliers open the loop on one antiqued copper fishhook earwire. Pass the loop through the punched hole on the top straight side of the 18x18x18mm triangle link. Close the loop.
STEP 5
Repeat Steps 1 - 4 to create a second earring.
