Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Premo! Sculpey® Polymer Clay and Silver-Plated Steel Cable Chain

Necklace

Large Dragonfly Focal

STEP 1
Condition each color of polymer clay by hand kneading or running through a polymer clay roller and adding a small amount of translucent clear liquid polymer clay until soft and pliable. Combine colors by mashing and tearing the clays together to create an appealing palette.

Still using your hands, form the clay into the shape of a heart with dimensions approximately 2-4/5x1-3/4 inches. With a ball-end texturing tool, texture the inside perimeter of the heart. This texturing will create a raised border.

Punch 2 holes in the top textured border of your heart with a straw, one on the left and one on the right.
STEP 2
Using a Wings and Things stamp, stamp a dragonfly into the center of your polymer clay heart, creating a dragonfly focal.

Apply majestic blue mica powder to the head, body and tail of the stamped dragonfly. Apply sweet thistle mica powder to the wings.

Place the dragonfly focal onto a baking rack. Place the baking rack into the pre-heated clay craft oven and bake according to manufacturer's instructions.

Necklace Assembly

STEP 3
Cut two 8-1/4 inch lengths of silver-plated steel chain.
STEP 4
On a 1-inch head pin, string one 7x4mm flower bead cap, one 8mm purple bead and one more flower bead cap. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a bead drop. Attach one 6mm jumpring to the loop of the drop and a second 6mm jumpring. Continue to connect 10 jumprings creating a 12 link extender chain.
STEP 5
Pass one 7mm jumpring through the last link of one 8-1/4 inch chain and one of the holes on the large dragonfly focal, then close.

Repeat to attach the second 8-1/4 inch chain to the other hole on the dragonfly focal.
STEP 6
Use a 6mm jumpring to connect the lobster claw clasp to the opposite end of the chain. Repeat to attach the extender chain to the second length of chain.

STEP 1
Condition each color of polymer clay by hand kneading or running through a polymer clay roller and adding a small amount of translucent clear liquid polymer clay until soft and pliable. Combine colors by mashing and tearing the clays together to create an appealing palette.

Still using your hands, form the clay into the shape of a bean with dimensions approximately 7/8x1-1/4 inches. With a ball-end texturing tool, texture the inside perimeter of the heart. This texturing will create a raised border.

Punch a hole in the top textured border of your bean with a straw.
STEP 2
Using a Wings and Things stamp, stamp a dragonfly into the center of your polymer bean, creating a small dragonfly focal.

STEP 3
Repeat Step 1 and 2 to create a second small dragonfly focal.
