Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Hemalyke™ Beads, Drops and Pendant and Premo! Sculpey® Polymer Clay

Necklace

Point Pendant

STEP 1
Condition black Premo! Sculpey® until it's soft and pliable.

Place a sheet of gold leaf sheet onto the front side of the polymer clay sheet. Use a finger to burnish the gold sheet transferring the leaf to the clay.

Tip: If desired place foil over exposed areas of clay and burnish again to cover them.

Use a craft knife to cut the clay into 15 approximately 25x8mm strips.
STEP 2
Wrap one clay strip around the center of one Hemalyke™ rainbow double-terminated point. Trim the strip so the ends lay flush against each other. Press the ends together to secure the point.

Repeat to create a total of five clay wrapped double points (two for the earrings).
STEP 3
Wrap one clay strip around a toothpick. Trim the strip so the ends lay flush against each other. Press the ends together securing the toothpick. Repeat to create a total of ten clay tubes.
STEP 4
Apply a small amount of Poly Bonder™ to one side of one wrapped double point. Press one clay tube into the side of the wrapped double point. Repeat to attach one clay tube to the opposite side of the wrapped double point, creating a link.

Repeat to create a total of five double point links.
STEP 5
Bake the double point links according to manufacturer's instructions.
STEP 6
Cut one 20-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire and three 3-inch lengths of Zebra Wire™.
STEP 7
Use the large square mandrel Wubbers® pliers to create one 10mm and one 13mm jumpring. Use the 14mm mandrel on the large triangular Wubbers pliers to create one triangle jumpring.
STEP 8
Pass the 14mm triangle jumpring through the loop on the Hemalyke rainbow point pendant and one hole on one end of a double point link then close.

Use the 10mm square jumpring to connect a second link to the hole on the opposite end of the previous link. Repeat using the 14mm to connect a third link, creating a double point focal.

Necklace Assembly

STEP 9
String onto the beading wire: one crimp and one Accu-Guard™ wire protector. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the Accu-Guard leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Crimp then trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Finish with a 4mm crimp cover.
STEP 10
String the following onto the beading wire:
  • 15 5x1mm liquid twisted tubes
  • One Hemalyke 15x3mm top-drilled point
  • Four sets of:
    • Five 5x1mm liquid twisted tubes
    • One Hemalyke 15x3mm top-drilled point
  • Five 5x1mm liquid twisted tubes
  • One 4mm smooth round
STEP 11
Continue to string the double point focal then repeat Step 10 in the opposite direction to string the second half of the necklace. Repeat Step 9 to secure the strand.
STEP 12
Pass one 4mm jumpring through the loop on one portion of the toggle clasp and the Accu-Guard on one end of the strand then close. Repeat to attach a second jumpring creating double jumprings.

Repeat to attach the second portion of the clasp to the opposite end of the strand.
