Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Hemalyke™ Beads, Antique Silver-Plated Brass Beads and Antique Silver-Plated White Brass Beads

by Susanne Kathol, Exclusively for Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®

Hemalyke is a manmade stone that is a "look-alike" to natural hematite, with similar chemical properties and appearance, but at a fraction of the cost. This design shows how stunning Hemalyke can be in jewelry designs, with a shiny almost gunmetal black appearance.

The light Siam astral pink Swarovski crystal beads in this piece are attention-getting as they radiate three shades of color for dazzling light refraction and movement. The simple stringing pattern of Hemalyke beads and Swarovski crystal beads is visually stunning.

The antique silver-plated brass beads featured in this design are a blend of copper and zinc that produces a cool shade of white brass, giving the beads the look of sterling silver at an economical price. The detailing of these beads and the antique silver-plated brass filigree teardrop focal bead with its swirls, curlicues, dots, geometric shapes and floral accents are exceptional.

The focal pendant is easily created using a head pin and is creatively accented with a Swarovski crystal bead. The silver-plated brass smooth star beads have a shiny finish and make a great choice for spacer beads in this design.

Dress this jewelry set up or down for a variety of looks. The modern style of this design and how economical it is to produce makes it a dream. Get ready for lots of compliments and sales.
