Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
Indianapolis, Indiana
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I am inspired by the different colors, whether they are beads, crayons, threads, fabric, or colorful pictures in a magazine.
What medium do you work with mostly?
I work mostly with beads, but I love adding leather, or wire into the mix
Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I have found that when mixing up your medium, you start to create the pieces of jewelry that become, exquisite, mesmerizing, and sometimes whimsy.
Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
Etsy, Weebly, Facebook, home parties, and sometimes right off my neck (necklace), ears (earrings) and wrist (bracelet).
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
I call her Nadine
What inspired this design?
I love treasure hunting, (AKA Thrift Shopping). While I was out treasure hunting, I came across a very dirty pendant with a chain. At first I could not see all the details, but I knew it was a picture of a lady's face. Once getting home for a little cleaning up, she turned out to be a queen. At least that is what I called her. Now she needed to become grand, like the queen she is.
How did it come together?
I knew that I wanted her to be with large bold beads, and since I had these beads for a while, I laid them out on the design board, until she stood out among the beads, as the focal point of the design. |
