Where do you live?
Bayonne, New Jersey

Describe your artistic style.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Colors, nature, clothes trends.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Crystals, silver and recently gemstones.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Stormy Seas

What inspired this design?
I wanted to make something jingly, crazy and fun!!

How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?
I had a vision of it in my mind. I just started working and there it was! I have since made it in many other color combos.

Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I started about three years ago. I have always been crafty. I make scrapbooks and I can draw and paint. I wanted to "create" things.

Who introduced you to beading?
No one. I just saw some pieces on a friend and realized I could make it! So, I bought some books, went online, and here I am; and I love it!

Do you have an artistic background?
Yes. I used to own and operate a nail salon here in my town and always did a lot of hand-painted nail art. I loved it. I also do many crafts like scrapbooking and card-making.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
My friend was wearing a bracelet that someone made using Fire Mountain Gems products that lead me to Fire Mountain Gems.

What other hobbies do you have?
Scrapbooking, picture taking, card-making, drawing and painting. I also still love doing people's nails.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Well, I have a 5-1/2 year old son who has autism and I needed to do something to keep myself from getting lost! This is so fulfulling and rewarding! It makes me so happy and I can help pay for his therapy and the things he needs. It makes me a better person for him.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I do not have a website, but I do have home parties which are my main way of selling my jewelry.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Yes!!! I do it on my own, but I donate bracelets to cancer patients at Overlook Hospital in Summit New Jersey.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Oh lots. Practice, ask questions, go online! Practice some more!! Keep on trying and always have fun! You have to love it, or it won't show in you work.
