Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I started about 30 years ago embellishing my blue jeans and shirts. It was cheaper, and I made bracelets.

Who introduced you to beading?
No one; I like collecting beads.

Do you have an artistic background?
I have a lot of arts and crafts hobbies and a BA in art illustration.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
A friend at work gave me a Fire Mountain Gems and Beads catalog.

What other hobbies do you have?
Silk painting, photography (digital) and digital illustration.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
It's good to make things by hand. But frustrating when not perfect. It's just a hobby for gift-giving.

If you use jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
No, not for income. Too time consuming. No website. I do go to bead shows and I have only ever entered Fire Mountain Gems and Beads contests.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
I donate pieces for fundraisers at work.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Just keep creating. Study other artists.
