Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
Jeannette, Pennsylvania
Describe your artistic style.
Funky, whimsical, fun.
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Color, texture.
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
My own artwork--I love beads and shiny things.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Checkered Tree
What inspired this design?
I love the sunset behind a winter tree and had to paint it (watercolor.) It reminds me that winter can be beautiful. I found that antique French postcard written with pen and ink didn't even care what it said. I was happy when I finally got it translated.
How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working?
I planned the checkered tree around the beads and the vintage brass finding on top.
