What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Color, texture and form.

Medium/large cabochon gemstones enhanced with #15 seed beads.

Ode to Mother Nature
What inspired this design?
Each stone tells a story with its unique colors and patterns. I tried to enhance their earthy qualities.
How did it come together?
It started as semi thought out and then finished itself.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
About 3 years ago, a friend made a necklace and it inspired me to learn and take classes.
Do you have an artistic background?
Yes, as a musician and educator. Visual and textural arts have evolved out of the need to be creative.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
Through my first jewelry-making class.
What other hobbies do you have?
Trumpet performance, tole painting, sewing and power walking.
What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Jewelry-making is a necessity to help bring out the ideas that swirl around in my brain! Currently (due to time), this is a hobby that I would like to evolve into a career in the near future.
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
This is my first contest and I marvel at all of the beautiful pieces that others have created!
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
As a public school educator, participation/teaching is an ongoing event.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Enjoy what you choose and let it evolve. Purchase the best/right tools to make the process successful.
