Describe your artistic style.
Eclectic

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Different colors, materials and shapes inspire me. I see something unique and different and I get this image in my mind as to what to do with it.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Pearls, seed beads and natural stones.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Pretty as a Pearl

What inspired this design?
The partially formed pearls in the pendant kind of gave me a picture for the rest of the necklace.

How did it come together?
I have a design in my head and then everything grew from there as I was working.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I saw a demonstration as to how to crochet seed beads and had to learn how to do it. I got a DVD, taught myself the technique and was immediately extending the boundaries.

Who introduced you to beading?
When I learned to crochet the seed beads, I made a bracelet for myself. My friends and family all encouraged me to do more with it.

Do you have an artistic background?
Yes, I use to paint as well as knit and crochet.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
Looking online for seed beads.

What other hobbies do you have?
Stained glass, interior decorating.

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
It is quickly become my full-time career.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have recently started doing art and craft shows and I list my jewelry online to sell. But people who know me see my designs online and call me or come find me at a show.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Just do what you love and the rest will follow.
