Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
West Jordan, Utah
Describe your artistic style.
I tend to mix classic looks with the latest trends.
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
My two daughters inspire me. My toddler has no fear of color and patterns, I love that!
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
I love fibers, fabric and gemstones.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Midnight Pansy Bracelet
What inspired this design?
I love to crochet, but some fiber jewelry pieces feel too flimsy. I incorporated the fun of crochet with hard metal to create an urban look.
How did it come together?
I did plan the design, but it has been altered from my first sketch. I didn't want it to look cluttered and I wanted each bead to be viewable.
Share Your Background
When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began making jewelry in elementary school; those fun thread friendship bracelets.
Who introduced you to beading?
My mother has gotten into beading in the last couple years and that sparked my interest.
Do you have an artistic background?
I've always been a creative-minded person. I love art and I love to create.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
A long time ago while looking for jewelry components.
What other hobbies do you have?
Crochet, knitting quilting….actually there probably isn't a creative hobby I haven't tried.
Beading Success
What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I have my own crochet business, so jewelry is just a hobby to refuel me.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
