When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began beading and jewelry-making when I was a little girl. I had a little holiday tin filled with seed beads, safety pins, wire and embroidery thread. I would attempt to make what I hoped would be fabulous creations for all my little friends.
Who introduced you to beading?
Completely self taught.
Do you have an artistic background?
I have always loved all things creative! I love painting and sewing, as well as beading. I have been using beading and sewing for my own line of special occasion hair accessories, which I sell for a living.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
While researching the best wholesale prices and selections for crystal beads as I was making my first collection, I discovered Fire Mountain Gems and Beads. You really do offer the best prices and selections, and I love that you are in Oregon.
What other hobbies do you have?
Running, sewing and painting.

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
This is what I do for a living. I love that I can do this from my home while staying at home with my two young sons. Not only does this allow me more time with them, it also allows me my own outlet from them.
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
Currently, I have my own website: www.tiffanisaxtondesigns.com, as well as an Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/tiffanisaxtondesigns. Additionally, my pieces are located in three bridal boutiques, including: Magnifique Boutique (Portland, Oregon), The English Department (Portland, Oregon) and The Finerie (Seattle, Washington). I also have a blog, Facebook fan page, and list of bride emails from the recent bridal show I attended. Some of my work was used in the Fall/Winter 2010 photo shoot for Seattle Bride and was featured on the cover!
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Currently, I don't as I haven't been aware of any.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Always push yourself! Just when I think a design is good, I always try to push it a little further...a little more over the top--this is how I've created some of my favorite pieces!
