The original design was an angel but once I started, it turned into a butterfly.

I initially planned it, but it transformed as I got going.

Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I started when I was eight with beading and picked up different styles as I went. I taught myself how to solder in 2007.

Who introduced you to beading?
My mom.

Do you have an artistic background?
I have a lot of crafting family members, but not formal teaching.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and BeadsĀ®?
Searching around on the internet.

What other hobbies do you have?
I'm a massage therapist. I enjoy role playing, camping and general silliness.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I'm trying to make it a full-time career. It's exhausting having a full-time job and doing this at night and on weekends, but I love it.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have a website on etsy, facebook and ads in yellowbook. I attend Renaissance fairs, gaming fairs and other types of fairs.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Never give up, it takes time and patience but the reward at the end is priceless.
