Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
Foresthill, California
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I am always inspired by nature, my favorite colors and my favorite things whether it be my favorite season, my favorite scripture, a favorite quote or something I read or hear about. I am also inspired by the jewelry I see in stores or something others have made or wear.
What medium do you work with mostly?
I use a variety of mediums and do not stick to one type of medium or bead. I use anything from acrylic beads to polymer clay beads and I am now starting to use the metal sheets and polymer clay bars to make my own beads, pendants and charms to make some unique jewelry.
Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
I make jewelry of all different styles of jewelry making and started when I was around 12 but really got interested and started making some amazing pieces about in 2012 and continue to imagine and dream up new creative pieces. I love taking old pieces that people give and repurposing them by adding them to newer beads to make extremely unique jewelry.
Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
Through craft fairs, online jewelry parties and by word of mouth. I also wear my products to model and advertise what I make.
What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Night Out on the Town Woman's Watch!
What inspired this design?
I have wanted to add watches to my jewelry making for a long time now and finally found watch heads that I could use. My inspiration for this design actually came from the supplies I already had in my stock.
How did it come together?
I had a plan in mind but it actually ended up defining itself in a way because my original did not work the way I wanted it to. I ended up using 3 pearls on either side of the watch head and the pearls are attached to the chain. The watch has a clasp to connect when you put it on. |
