Refurbished Dream
Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Naperville, Illinois

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Something so profound as the colors of the world inspire me right along with a jewelry piece I find in a department store. Knowing I can create something on my own out of what appears to be nothing and make it shiny, new, and beautiful is the best feeling!

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Sterling silver, glass beads, wire.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Refurbished Dream

What inspired this design?
I took an old necklace apart and decided what I liked best with a black pendant and behold my refurbished necklace is one that will complement any outfit...casual or formal!

How did it come together?
The design came to me as I tried different types of beads with the pendant. I knew I wanted a 2-strand design and of course...bling action!

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I am passionate about making stunning, quality jewelry for people to wear both on a casual and formal level. My jewelry serves both purposes. I would love to have the opportunity to dive further into jewelry-making when possible and eventually have a store!

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I don't have it set up yet, but I do have an Etsy account that I am toying with. EBay is also an option, as well as word of mouth from friends and family. I have not entered any contests nor have I sent out mailings.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Not at this time but I would love the opportunity to do so in the near future.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Jewelry-making is a very competitive business. I'm trying not to sweat it too much...there is a certain clientele out there for me just as much as there is for you. I want my customers to truly love my jewelry and want to come back for more. That is my goal.
