|Meet the Designer-Artist
Where do you live?
Los Angeles, California
Describe your artistic style.
I enjoy many different styles of jewelry-making. I use gemstones and all kinds of metal in my work. I love to create unique pieces which make women feel special and beautiful.
What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I love to create! I can be inspired by anything: material, color combination, art, other jewelry pieces, beautiful beads, pendants and focal components. Ideas for my designs come to me all the time by themselves.
What materials do you most enjoy working with?
I mostly enjoy working with gemstones, pearls, crystals and metal. I've also been learning a bit of wireworking.

How did it come together?
I didn't really plan it. I picked out a variety of gemstone beads and started working.

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?
I began making jewelry about 4 years ago. It started as a hobby. I would craft jewelry for the people close to me, and myself. I really enjoyed working with natural stones and metal.
As I began making jewelry for people, I decided it was time to create a company. I designed and built my own website. I named it Vasanti, which means--born in the spring. I myself was actually born during spring, and the word itself means freshness, youth, energy, and beauty.
Who introduced you to beading?
One of my friends.
Do you have an artistic background?
I've always had a passion for art. I am a graphic designer by occupation.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
I discovered Fire Mountain Gems and Beads searching on the internet.
What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy oil and watercolor painting, web design, classical music and reading.
What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
I love making jewelry. It is very relaxing to express myself creatively through new designs. I would love to become a successful jewelry artist! I would call making jewelry a part-time career at the moment.
If you use jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
Currently I sell my work in my online shop www.vasantidesignjewelry.com. I would love to sell my jewelry in retail stores or boutiques.
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
No, I haven't yet. I would welcome the opportunity!
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
