These beads are a shimmering sapphire blue/violet color. The gem version of the mineral cordierite, it is often called "water sapphire." Perfect when combined with blue topaz, peridot or amethyst. Please be sure to rinse before stringing. Sizes, shapes and colors may vary with handcrafted items.
Heavenly-that's the look that these lustrous, clear medium blue to violet beads and cabochons will add to your jewelry. Part of it is their shimmering color. This rather rare stone looks dichroic (its hue appears to change when you view it from different angles). One moment it's blue, the next it's violet. It has such a dreamy quality, a friend of mine refers to it as "Eye o' Light." The name actually comes from the Greek word "ion" which means "violet."
