Reiki Jewelry: Balance Your Body and Mind

Reiki healing uses the energies of the universe to clean out energy centers and to help the body's natural healing process. It is also believed that this energy can be infused into jewelry by Reiki masters.

History of Reiki

The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words--rei (soul) and ki (vital energy). There is confusion as to who was the original creator of healing Reiki techniques; however, it is known that there were five styles of energy healing in Japan by 1922.

The most widespread technique is Usui Reiki Ryoho due to its spread to Hawaii and then the mainland of the United States. Other styles of Reiki healing are not as widely known due to the outbreak of World War II, which caused them to be lost or to remain in isolated parts of Japan.

What is Reiki Healing?

Reiki practitioners describe the process of healing as opening the user's body to the "smart" universal life energy, using their body to channel the energy of the universe into the body of the one who needs healing.

Reiki, however, is not a massage, or some form of acupuncture, and does not require one's hands to even be put on the person who needs to be healed. In fact, skilled Reiki practitioners can even channel this energy from supposedly anywhere in space or even forward and backward in time to heal past traumas or support future endeavors. A light touch on areas, or even a hovering hand over an area, is enough for the Reiki healer to guide the energy through the body. Those who have undergone a typical healing session report a feeling of tingling, warming or cooling in an area or areas of the body that have been subjected to the healing energy. Afterwards, they are said to be relaxed, even invigorated by the energy of the universe.

Reiki Jewelry

Reiki jewelry has been enhanced by Reiki energy or carries the energy with it. It may also have one of the five words of power that are revered by Reiki practitioners:

  • Cho Ku Rei: The power symbol, increases or decreases the flow of Reiki, and provides protection
  • Sei He Ki: The emotional healing symbol, and said to help with ending addictions
  • Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen: The distance healing symbol, helps to protect energy from afar
  • Dai Ko Myo: The master symbol, is used to awaken the ability to use Reiki in others
  • Raku: The final symbol, it is used at the end of a healing session to ground healer and healed

Additionally, you can use Reiki-enhanced jewelry to stimulate not only your body's chakra points, but the area around you. When selecting gemstones, consider the chakras and the perceived metaphysical properties of the gemstone. It is believed that when Reiki energy is put into a gemstone, that gemstone's metaphysical properties become enhanced or augmented in some way.

When Reiki energy is put into a person, it works to unblock the chakra points and enable them to move toward balance. When this energy is put into crystals, it "charges" the gemstone and crystals. This is thought to give the innate energy inside of the gemstone, sometimes called the vibrations, a positive energy. It increases the power of the crystal's natural healing properties and feelings of self-love, peace, confidence, strength and more.

When selecting gemstones to charge with Reiki, it is good to consider the chakra's location and the properties of the gemstone.

Amethyst, crystal quartz, moonstone and white topaz are the gemstones associated with crown chakra, located on the top of the head.

Lapis lazuli, dumortierite and sodalite are the gemstones most often associated with the third eye chakra, between your eyebrows and directly over the pineal gland.

Aquamarine, apatite, blue lace agate and turquoise are the gemstones attributed to be in tune with the throat chakra's energy.

There are many gemstones associated with the heart chakra, such as jade, peridot, rose quartz, amazonite, malachite and others.

Tigereye is one of the gemstones associated with the solar plexus chakra (located in your stomach). Other gemstones that are related to the solar plexus are golden ''jade'', amber, citrine and yellow calcite.

Sunstone, hessonite and carnelian are typically the predominate gemstones that are associated with the sacral chakra, located just below your navel.

The red gemstones that vibrate in frequency with the root chakra (at the base of the spine) are red jasper, garnet, bloodstone, smoky quartz and obsidian to name a few.

With the use of proper meditation techniques, Reiki and chakras gemstones, you may find that your body's natural energy fields begin to flow more freely. Artistic inspiration will come more easily, and your intuition will return in force.

But you don't need to sit in a monastery praying for meditation to take place. When you're working on your next design, let your mind begin to wonder. Think about the things that have stressed you that day, and then let them go. And we have plenty of different types of gemstones that can be infused with Reiki for yourself, your friends, family and customers. Be the source of comforting energy that the world needs, even if it's just those around you.
