Topics: Attaching Chain to a Pendulum

Q.
I want to make wood pendulums. I know how to make the wood part: it will be about 1 inch diameter by 1-1/2 inches long with a cone on bottom. My problem is with attaching a chain or string to the top. Any ideas?

Drilling a hole into the wide top of your pendulums and gluing in an upeye, eyepin or screw eye is the best way to attach a chain or cord. Attach the chain with a jumpring or bond the cord in place with Devcon 2-part jeweler’s epoxy to provide the best hold. Also review the Glue Types and Information chart for other options.
