Q.
How do you make small clay inlays for a faux turquoise necklace?
- Annika, OK
A.
Little leaves, stars and other shapes can be created from paper punches. Make thin sheets of clay using the Poly-Roller™ (number six, or closest to the smallest setting) and bake these sheets per Kato Polyclay™ directions (275 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes). Let the sheets of clay cool down, then use your paper punches to "punch out" designs like you would in paper. The punched out clay pieces can then be inlayed into raw clay, and then baked again.
