Topics: Waxed Cotton Cord, Measurement

Q.
I recently ordered 1 and 2mm waxed cotton cord in multiple colors and none of my cord tips fit properly. What size inside diameter (ID) should I order for each size cord? Thank you.
- Marilyn
A.
Folding or crimping cord ends and tips have an inside dimension listed in their measurements. When purchasing, order the same inside dimension as your cord width. For the type of cord ends that require glue, refer to "Cord Tips Measurement Chart" for the proper widths.

If you're still having trouble fitting the cord inside the tip, you may be able to decrease the width by squeezing the end of the cord with chain-nose pliers to flatten it slightly. You could also use very sharp scissors to make a deep diagonal cut at the end of the cord so it will fit.
