Q.
I bought some unfinished chain and a few links to create my own chain necklace. I am wondering what is the best technique for adding custom links in between the chains?
- Sherry
A.
Connecting chain can be done in several ways. The simplest technique for attaching one chain to another is using a jumpring. There are many choices in jumprings from smooth to fancy, round to oval, which add dimension to a design. Split rings are a variation of a jumpring that slips onto the links like a keyring.

Using premade links or beading links made with eyepins and beads can also be used to attach the pieces of chain together. - Maura Buckner, Jewelry-Making Expert
