Q.
I usually make items at my own pace and inclination. I'm thinking that selling on eBay might be the way for me to go. But I have no idea how it works. Does it cost to place items on eBay? Please help! Thanks.

A.
Nearly all websites where a jewelry artist might sell their jewelry charge a fee, and the structure of those costs varies. Check with individual sites to learn more about that. Fees are used to cover the costs of maintaining the site, promoting it, responding to technical questions/problems and more. Also, keep in mind that consumers go to various sites with certain expectations. For example, one site might be seen as a prestige location where consumers expect to pay more for the jewelry; other sites might cater to bargain-hunters. No matter what site you choose, be patient! It can take a while to sell effectively online. - Dr. David Weiman
