Q.
I am planning on making an 18-20 inch necklace using glass bottle beads and natural wood beads. I want to make the necklace very "natural." The opening on the bottle beads ranges from 3-5 mm. I would like to use hemp cord to string the necklace unless you can recommend something else. If I do use hemp cord, how can I make a clasp for the necklace that incorporates the cord and a bead or beads? Thank you.

Hemp is a great stringing material that is fairly hardy and definitely has a very natural look. Hemp cording can be worked to include beads, as well as finished in many ways so it incorporates a closure for your design.
