Q.
I saw the Q and A on brooch conversion. Is it possible to convert a post earring into a pendant? I have an earring where its pair was lost and would like to make the last one into a pendant. Thank you!

Yes, it is possible, depending on how secure the post is attached and the metal it is made from. You can use a pair of round-nose pliers to turn the post into a loop and then use the loop to suspend the earring like a pendant. If the post is not secure or if the metal is too hard to turn using round-nose pliers, embedding the post in a small batch of Apoxie® Sculpt would be a good alternative for converting the earring into a pendant.

Mix a small batch of Apoxie Sculpt, form a decorative pad then embed the post into the pad. Add an upeye to the top edge of the Apoxie Sculpt then let the Apoxie Sculpt cure according to manufacturer's instructions. The upeye can then be used to suspend the new pendant.
