Q.
Is there a way to stamp a design on a metal bead or spacer? I'm looking for a certain design, can't find it anywhere so I wondered if there was some way I could do it myself.

Stamping hollow beads or components using a metal punch and hammer will likely crush the item. If the item you are stamping is flat, and you have a stamp or tool that will make the impression you like, place the item to be stamped onto a steel bench block and strike the stamp with a heavy hammer. Instructions for this technique as well as a video can be found in the list of Resources below.

Depending on the design you are trying to create, you may find an engraving pen able to accomplish the task. Making the beads yourself is another option--consider working in metal clay and creating the stamp for the design you have in mind.
