Q.
I may be crazy but I was interested in beading my son a bow tie for his high school graduation. I would love to make it so that it can be tied into the bow tie shape. What would be the most flexible but cloth-like stitch to use?

A.
Absolutely NOT crazy, Quinta. What a great idea! He’ll have many more occasions down the road to wear it and will think of you every time. Check out Nicole Schlinger's "Peyote Stitch Bow Tie" design idea in our Gallery of Designs. You can easily adapt a simple peyote stitch to create a bow tie by increasing and decreasing your stitch.
