What is the best way to thread soft materials like bugtail, cotton, etc. through snug holes? When I thread a woven cotton through a hole that is the exact size of my material I can't use a needle. I end up cutting off a lot of material to get to a new point that's stiff enough to pass through the bead. Is there a hollow needle or wire wrapping technique that will guide the cord end through beads with a similar hole size?
I'm trying to make a necklace with a lamp worked frog bead (H20-2474FB) that is top-heavy. I would like the bead to hang horizontally on the string with the frog on top, but because the frog is heavier he always hangs underneath. I have tried using smaller beads inside the large bead, using a thick cord, clamping the ends of the bead with bead caps, and using clay to stuff the bead. None of this helps, as the poor frog is still upside-down. How do I get him to stay upright?
I made a couple of gemstone chip bracelets on Power cord, but I don't like the way they turned out. The knot area, with a small dab of glue on it, is stiff and brittle. The cord seems to have "warped" and appears to be stretched out of shape. The chips slid on the cord easily so that would not seem to be the reason for this distortion of the cord. Help!
I am looking to make a necklace where the beads are on the thread but not connected to other beads or spacers. Do I just need to knot around the bead or do I need to do something different to hold it in place?
I'm making a necklace with a pendant for a sister-in-law who has metal allergies. The pendant measures 3.5" long. I thought of making the necklace long enough to slip over the head so no metal findings would be used, but with the pendant so long, it would hang too low to look good. How would you finish a shorter necklace (16-17") without using metal findings?
Well, I just started practicing with tubular peyote, I didn't have thread, only elastic cord. I ended up making a bracelet I really like, and I was wondering how long my piece might last? I strengthened the stitching greatly, but I've never seen any videos or tutorials or anything on this site saying to use elastic.I have thread coming now, (thanks =D) but I kind of like the tightness the elastic offers, is it a bad idea to use this instead of thread?
I have been seeing watch bands made with beads and safety pins and they just stretch. What would be a good choice of stringing material to use so the safety pin will not break it and it stretches.
I have been making some necklaces with waxed cotton cord using a surgeon's style sliding knot. A few have been returned because the knots come undone. Any suggestions?
I would like to make stretch bracelets, and I have two different types of cord, one is plastic, the other is almost like a fabric, the fabric frays when I use it, how can I stop this from happening?

I recently purchased from you some 8 inch satin cords in various colors. I originally thought that they were 18 inches and would use them for pendants. What do you recommend using the 8 inch sections for? How do you close the ends or attach them?
Would like to try and make bracelets to sell at a craft fair using stretch cord. What size stretch cord would you use and what size bracelet should I make for a general adult-sized wrist? Thanks.
Help! I'm trying to find cording that will knot well, is sturdy and visually appealing (like macrame) as much as the beads. I am making a Shekere, which is a percussion type instrument made from gourds. I will also need to know what size beads will fit with the diameter of the cord you recommend.Thank you so much!
When making items with elastic cord, can I use a hot glue gun to secure the knot on the project?
I am making rings using Powercord®. How do I hide the knot? My beads are not large enough for it to fit through.
Help!!! I recently decided to wear a necklace I had made about 3 years ago out of leather and gemstones. I did not use any clasps on the ends and have been tying it to the length I wanted each time I wore it. This time as I tightened the knot the ends broke off in my hand. It was as if the leather had dried out and cracked or maybe it was faulty to begin with. How do I keep this from happening again? I have made several of these necklaces as gifts and haven't heard of this happening to anyone else. What went wrong? Thanks for your help.
