Agate, Golden Lace Gemstone Properties

Design Possibilities

Nothing warms one like a mixture of tawny, sensuous golds and browns. Add intricate black veining and you have golden lace agate, the perfect stone for every camel-colored, black, or brown fashion in your closet. Although agates are formed in the cavities of eruptive rocks or in ancient lava all over the world, our golden lace agate beads come from Africa. Part of what I love about this particular agate is its versatility. Try mixing it with golden "jade" and golden leaf agate in multiple strands. Combine it with various shapes of aragonite beads and it fairly shouts "golden and gorgeous." Want it to whisper those words more subtly? Mix it with delicate Brazilian citrine. Get out your bead board and experiment with wood and heishi shell beads for a more informal look. Add a brick red accent with brecciated jasper. Try it with copper. You'll be delighted at the variety of beautiful jewelry you can create with golden lace agate.

Metaphysical/Healing Properties

As a member of the quartz family, agate is associated with the moon, but I think golden lace agate really blends the beauty of both earth and moon. It contains the rich dark brown color of soil and the golden glow of moonlight. I wear golden lace agate whenever my life feels out of balance--or when I'm feeling particularly okay and don't want anything to change that.
