Multi-Strand Necklace with Seed Beads and Dichroic Glass Beads

Combine a palette of glass seed beads and shimmering dichroic glass beads with gold accent beads to create this stunning multi-layer necklace.

STEP 1
Fill the bowl of the Speedy Stringer™ with an assortment of seed beads, until it's half full. You can blend many colors of seed beads to complement the dichroic glass beads.
STEP 2
Cut 1-yard of thread and thread through the Speedy Stringer needle.
STEP 3
Follow the instructions that came with your Speedy Stringer for proper stringing instructions.

String on 16 inches of beads. Set the beaded strand aside.
STEP 4
Repeat Steps 2 - 3, stringing three more 16-inch strands of beads. Set the beaded strands aside.
STEP 5
Cut 4 inches of gold-filled wire. Blunt cut one end.
STEP 6
Grasp the blunt end of the wire with round-nose pliers. Rotate your wrist to form a loop. Re-grip the wire with the pliers, and make another loop that rests right up against the first loop (like a key ring). Bend the remaining length of straight wire to a 90 degree angle, down from the loops.
STEP 7

Thread one end of one of the16-inch strands through the 20mm diamond and then through the loop on the wire from Step 6. Take the other end of the same strand and make a surgeon's knot with the two ends, cinching the knot until the beads from each end meet. Make another knot for extra security. You can also apply a dab of glue to secure the knot.
STEP 8
Repeat Step 7 until you've passed all 4 strands through the diamond and through the loop. Set aside.
STEP 9
Cut 1-1/2 yards of thread and thread through the Speedy Stringer needle. String, in this order, 4 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic glass 6mm bead, 1 rondelle, 4 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic glass 8mm bead, 1 rondelle, 3 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic disk, 1 rondelle, 5 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic glass 8mm bead, and 1 rondelle. Pass through the 20mm diamond and continue stringing 20 inches of seed beads. Carefully set aside.
STEP 10
Cut 1-1/2 yards of thread and thread through the eye of the Speedy Stringer needle. String 38 inches of seed beads then pass through the 20mm diamond. Carefully set aside.
STEP 11
Cut 1-1/2 yards of thread and thread through the eye of the Speedy Stringer needle.

String 6 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic disk, 1 rondelle, 8 inches of seed beads, 1 rondelle, 1 dichroic glass 6mm bead, 1 rondelle, and 4 inches of seed beads.

STEP 13
Repeat Steps 5 - 6.
STEP 14
Thread one end of the strand created in Step 9 through the loop created in Step 13. Tie a surgeon's knot with the other end of the same strand. Cinch the knot down until the beads from both ends meet. Tie another surgeon's knot. For extra security, add a drop of glue.

Repeat Step 14 for the 3 remaining strands.
STEP 15
Trim all thread ends.
STEP 16
Place a cone onto the length of wire extending above the beads. Begin a wrapped loop. Before completing the loop, thread on one half of the clasp. Complete the loop and make a neat wrap with the wire. Trim any excess wire and tuck in the end to finish.
STEP 17
Repeat Step 16 for the other end of the necklace and the other half of the clasp.
