Multi-Strand Necklace with Hand-Painted Glass Beads, Sterling Silver Chain and Gold-Filled Chain

Tigers and zebras and cobras. Oh My! A jungle wonderful multi-strand necklace with glass beads covered with all your favorite critter prints. Collect them all and display on gleaming sterling silver chain for a frisky fashion statement!

Creating beading links

STEP 1
String onto a sterling silver eyepin, one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle, one black and white round glass bead, and one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle. Using round-nose pliers, form a simple loop above the bead to create a white and black round double-loop beading link.

Repeat to make a total of five.

Repeat to make two white and brown rectangle double-loop beading links by stringing onto a sterling silver eyepin, one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle, one white and brown rectangle, and one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle.

Repeat to make two white and brown round double-loop beading links by stringing onto a sterling silver eyepin, one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle, one white and brown round, and one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle.

Repeat to make five black and white rectangle double-loop beading links by stringing onto a sterling silver eyepin, one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one 4x1mm silver beaded rondelle.

Repeat to make two yellow and brown rectangle double-loop beading links by stringing onto a gold-filled eyepin, one gold-filled 3mm smooth rondelle, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one gold-filled 3mm smooth rondelle.

Repeat to make three yellow and brown round double-loop beading links by stringing onto a gold-filled eyepin one vermeil 5x3mm beaded rondelle, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one vermeil 5x3mm beaded rondelle.

Repeat to make two yellow and brown round double-loop beading links by stringing onto a gold-filled eyepin, one vermeil 5x1mm beaded rondelle, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one vermeil 5x1mm beaded rondelle.

Repeat to make two yellow and brown round double-loop beading links by stringing onto a gold-filled eyepin, one gold-filled 3mm smooth round, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one gold-filled 3mm smooth round.

Repeat to make two yellow and brown rectangle double-loop beading links by stringing onto a gold-filled eyepin, one gold-filled 3mm smooth round, one black and white rectangle glass bead, and one gold-filled 3mm smooth round.

Strand 1

STEP 2
Using flush-cutters cut two 4-1/2 inch lengths of gold-filled 10x9mm cable chain, two 3-3/4 inch lengths of sterling silver 10mm round cable chain and two 1-inch lengths of gold-filled 10.5x7.5mm flat hammered cable chain.
STEP 3
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a gold-filled 7mm round jumpring and pass it through the loop on the toggle-half of the clasp and the first loop on one end of a 4-1/2 inch gold-filled 10x9mm cable chain. Close the jumpring.
STEP 4
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a jumpring 7mm gold-filled jumpring, and pass it through the last link in the 4-1/2 inch length of chain and the loop on one yellow and brown round beading link. Close the loop.

Repeat, connecting elements together in the following order: the second loop on the yellow and brown round beading link, one 7mm gold-filled jumpring, one 3-3/4 inch length of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain, a 7mm gold-filled jumpring, one white and black round beading link, one 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring, one 1-inch length of 10.5x7.5mm gold-filled flat hammered cable chain, one 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring, one yellow and brown round link, one 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring, one 1-inch length of 10.5x7.5mm gold-filled flat hammered cable chain, one 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring, one white and black round beading link, one 7mm gold-filled jumpring, one 3-3/4 inch length of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain, one 7mm gold-filled jumpring, one yellow and brown round beading link, one 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring, one 4-1/2 inch length of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain, one 7mm gold-filled jumpring and the loop on the ring-half of the toggle clasp.

Strand 2

STEP 5
Using flush-cutters, cut two 2-1/4 inch lengths of 8mm sterling silver round cable chain, two 3-inch lengths of 10.5x7.5mm gold-filled flat hammered cable chain, two 1-1/2 inch lengths of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain, and one 5-1/4 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain.
STEP 6
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a 6.5mm sterling silver round jumpring and pass it through the second loop on the gold-filled 10x9mm chain from Step 4 and the first loop on a 2-1/4 inch length of 8mm sterling silver round cable chain. Close the jumpring.
STEP 7
Use a 7mm gold-filled jumpring to connect the last link of the 8mm sterling silver round cable chain and one loop on a white and brown round link. Close the jumpring.

Repeating Step 4, connect the following elements together in the following order:
  • The second loop on the white and brown round link
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One 3-inch length of 10.5x7.5mm gold-filled flat hammered cable chain
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One yellow and brown rectangle beading link
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 1-1/2 inch length of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 5-1/4 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 1-1/2 inch length of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One yellow and brown rectangle link

Strand 3

STEP 8
Using flush-cutters, cut two 2-1/8 inch lengths of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain, two 2-3/8 inch lengths of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain, two 3-inch lengths of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain, and two 1-inch lengths of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain.
STEP 9
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open the 7mm gold-filled round jumpring added to the toggle-half of the clasp in Step 3, then pass it through the first loop on one 2-1/8 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain. Close the jumpring.
STEP 10
Connect the following elements together in the following order:
  • The last link on the 2-1/8 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One white and black round beading link
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 2-3/8 inch length of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One white and brown rectangle beading link
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One 3-inch 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One yellow and brown rectangle link
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 1-inch length of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One white and black round beading link

STEP 11
Open the jumpring on the ring-half of the clasp and pass it through the last link in the 2-1/8 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain added in Step 10. Close the jumpring.

Strand 4

STEP 12
Using flush-cutters cut two 2-inch lengths of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain, two 2-1/2 inch lengths of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain, two 1-1/2 inch lengths of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain, two 2-1/8 inch lengths of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain, and one 3-1/4 inch lengths of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain.
STEP 13
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a 7mm gold-filled round jumpring and pass it through the sixth loop on the 2-1/8 inch length of 6mm gold-filled rolo chain from Step 9 and one loop on a 2-inch length of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain. Close the jumpring.
STEP 14
Connect the following elements together in the following order:
  • The last link on the 2-inch length of 10mm sterling silver round cable chain added in Step 13
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumping
  • One 2-1/2 inch length of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One yellow and brown round link
  • One 7mm gold-filled jumpring
  • One 2-1/8 inch length of 10.5x7.5mm sterling silver flat hammered cable chain
  • One 7mm gold filled jumpring
  • One white and black rectangle link
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
  • One 1-1/2 inch length of 10x9mm gold-filled cable chain
  • One 6.5mm sterling silver jumpring
