Double-Strand Necklace with Shiny Copper Beads and Czech Glass Druk Beads

Attaching the Clasp

STEP 1
Using two pairs of chain-nose pliers, open a 5mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on one half of the toggle clasp. Close the jumpring. Add another jumpring to the same loop. Repeat to attach two jumprings to the loop on the second half of the clasp.

First Strand

STEP 2
Using the flush-cutters, cut a 24-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and a jumpring attached to the clasp. Loop the beading wire back through the crimp leaving one end of the wire approximately one inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 3
String onto the beading wire:
  • One 4mm green druk bead
  • Ten 4mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm green druk bead
  • Twenty 4mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm green druk bead
  • Twenty 5mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm green druk bead
  • Twenty 5mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm green druk bead
  • One 5mm copper rondelle
  • One 6mm dark green druk bead
  • One 5mm copper rondelle
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Nine 8x2mm copper rondelles
String on six 3mm round copper beads so they rest inside the 8x2mm copper rondelles. The holes on the 8x2mm copper rondelles are large; the 3mm round beads will fill the holes so the rondelles have stability and lie properly in this design.
STEP 4
Continue to string onto the beading wire:
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Three 8x2mm copper star rondelles
  • One 10mm green druk bead
  • Three 7x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 8x6mm smooth copper rondelle
  • Three 7x2mm copper rondelles
STEP 5
String on one 10mm green druk bead and then repeat Steps 4 and 3, backwards to create a mirror image of the first half of the necklace.

String on one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the corresponding jumpring on the second half of the clasp. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp tube then pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the clasp and the French wire is formed into a nicely shaped tube. Make sure there is no slack along the entire length of the necklace, yet it's not so tight that the necklace is rigid. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using the flush-cutters, trim any excess wire from the end.

Second Strand

STEP 6
Cut a 20-inch length of Accu-Flex® beading wire. Repeat Step 2 to attach the wire to the second jumpring on one half of the clasp.
STEP 7
String onto the beading wire:
  • One 4mm green druk bead
  • Forty-five 4mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm dark green druk bead
  • Twenty-five 5mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm green druk bead
  • One 5mm copper rondelle
  • One 6mm dark green druk bead
  • One 5mm copper rondelle
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Nine 8x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Nine 8x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 8x6mm smooth copper rondelle
  • Three 8x2mm copper star rondelles
  • One 10mm green druk bead
  • Three 8x2mm copper star rondelles
  • One 8x6mm smooth copper rondelle
  • Three 7x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Four 7x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 8x6mm smooth copper rondelle
  • Six 8x2mm copper rondelles
  • One 7x5mm copper knurled round
  • One 3mm copper round
STEP 8
String onto the beading wire one copper bead cap, one 10mm green druk bead and one copper bead cap.
STEP 9
String onto the beading wire:
  • One 3mm copper round
  • One 7x5mm copper knurled round
  • Fifteen 5mm copper rondelles
  • One 6mm dark green druk bead
  • One 5mm copper rondelle
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • Nine 8x2mm copper rondelles
String on six 3mm round copper beads so they rest inside the 8x2mm copper rondelles.

Continue stringing on the wire:
  • One 8x6mm smooth copper rondelle
  • Three 8x2mm copper star rondelles
  • One 7x2mm copper rondelle
  • One 8mm green druk bead
  • One 4mm copper rondelle
STEP 10
String on one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and a 5mm jumpring. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp tube. Pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jumpring and the French wire is formed into a nicely shaped tube. Make sure there is no slack along the entire length of the strand, yet it's not so tight that the strand is rigid. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using the flush-cutters, trim any excess wire from the end.
STEP 11
Repeat Step 5 to attach the wire to the second jumpring on the loop end of the clasp.

Repeat Step 6.
STEP 12
Pass the wire through the bead cap, 10mm green druk bead and copper bead cap strung in Step 7.
STEP 13
Repeat Steps 8 and 9, backwards, to finish the second half of the second strand.
STEP 14
Match up two bead caps from the mix. String them onto a headpin so they form a sphere. Form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a copper bead drop. Repeat to create two copper bead drops. You can apply a bead of adhesive to keep the bead caps in place and connected.

Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, open the loop on one copper bead drop and pass the open loop through the jumpring added in Step 9, on one half of the second strand. Repeat adding the second copper bead drop to the jumpring on the second half of the second strand.
