Choker-Style Necklace with Hemalyke™ Beads and Aluminum Chain

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut the following:
  • Twenty-nine 1-1/2 inch lengths of black aluminum wire
  • One 18-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain
  • One 22-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain
  • Two 6-inch lengths of black leather cord.
STEP 2
Using round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on one end of a 1-1/2 inch length of black aluminum wire. String onto the wire one 14mm flat round Hemalyke™ bead. Form a simple loop on the end of the wire. Repeat to create twenty-nine 14mm flat round Hemalyke beading links.
STEP 3
Open the loop on a 14mm flat round Hemalyke beading link. Pass the loop through the 5th link on the 18-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain. Close the loop.

Repeat to attach a 14mm flat round Hemalyke beading link to every other link on the 18-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain until all twenty-nine beading links have been attached.
STEP 4
Open the opposite loop on the first 14mm flat round Hemalyke beading link. Pass the loop through the 5th link on the 22-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain. Close the loop.

Repeat to attach the corresponding 14mm flat round Hemalyke beading link to every second link, then every third link (alternating from second to third links) on the 22-inch length of 11x7mm black aluminum curb chain until all twenty-nine beading links have been attached.
STEP 5
Pass a 6-inch length of black leather cord though the first link on the 18-inch and 22-inch lengths of chain.

Match up the ends of the leather cord. String on one 16mm corrugated donut Hemalyke bead onto both cords for the button portion of your clasp. Tie an overhand knot 1 inch above the links on the chain to hold the bead in place.
STEP 6
Pass a 6-inch length of black leather cord though the last link on the 18-inch and 22-inch lengths of chain.

Match up the ends of the leather cord. Tie an overhand knot 1-1/2 inches above the links on the chain for the loop portion of your clasp.
