Lariat-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Acrylic Beads and Silver-Plated Brass Beads

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters, cut the following:
  • Two 4-inch lengths of 24 gauge round silver-plated Zebra wire
  • Eight 4-inch lengths of silver-plated 2.2 cable chain

Tassels

STEP 2
Using scissors, cut ten 10-inch lengths of purple silkon thread. String a beading needle onto one 10-inch length of thread.
STEP 3
Tie an overhand knot at the end of the thread. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) on the knot (optional).
STEP 4
String onto the thread the following components:
  • One 3mm round silver-plated bead
  • Six sets of one 6mm round purple and gold acrylic bead and one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead
  • Three sets of one 6mm round light grey and gold acrylic bead and one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead
  • Nine 3mm round silver-plated beads
Use a bead stopper to hold the beads on the strand.

Repeat to create ten acrylic bead tassels.
STEP 5
Match the top of five acrylic bead tassels. Using all five strands, tie an overhand knot at the top of the last 3mm round silver-plated bead to hold the tassels together. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot.
STEP 6
Using chain-nose pliers, wrap the end of one 4-inch length of 24 gauge round silver-plated Zebra wire around the base of the knot. Continue to wrap the wire around the knot to hold it securely in place.
STEP 7
String onto the wire the first link of four 4-inch lengths of silver-plated 2.2 cable chain and one silver-plated end cap. Finish the end with a wrapped loop.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 5 - 7 to create the second tassel.

Necklace

STEP 9
Using the flush-cutters, cut a 36-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one silver-plated crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and the wrapped loop on one tassel. Pass the wire back through the crimp tube, leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the wrapped loop, so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 10
String onto the beading wire one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead, one 6mm round purple and gold acrylic bead, and one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead.
STEP 11
String onto the beading wire one of each of the following components using one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead, one 6mm round purple and gold acrylic bead, and one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead in between each component:
  • One 24x15mm marquise turquoise blue and gold acrylic bead
  • One 17x17mm square green and gold acrylic bead
  • One 23x18mm ridge oval yellow and gold acrylic bead
  • One 17x17mm square purple and gold acrylic bead
  • One 25x19mm teardrop green and gold acrylic
  • One 24x15mm marquise pink and gold acrylic bead

STEP 12
String onto the beading wire one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead, one 6mm round purple and gold acrylic bead, and one 4mm heishi silver-plated bead.
STEP 13
String one crimp and 1/2 inch of French wire onto the beading wire.
