Double-Strand Necklace with Red Coral Gemstone Beads and Hill Tribes Fine Silver and Sterling Silver Beads and Chain

STEP 1
Onto one headpin, string one 5mm faceted round red coral bead, one 17x15mm sterling silver shell bead and one 5mm faceted round red coral bead. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and side-cutting pliers, form a wrapped loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 17x15mm sterling silver shell bead drop.
STEP 2
Place a seahorse bead onto a headpin, and using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and side-cutting pliers, form a simple loop above the seahorse bead.
STEP 3
Using cutting pliers, cut two 4-1/2 inch lengths of sterling silver elongated loop with textured link chain (begin and end cut with a single textured loop).
STEP 4
Using one pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop attached to the bar half of the toggle clasp and the first link of a 4-1/2 inch sterling silver elongated loop with textured link chain. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach the second length of chain to the ring portion of the toggle clasp.
STEP 5
Attach two 6mm jumprings to the last link of the other end of one length of 4-1/2 inch sterling silver elongated loop with textured link chain.

Repeat to attach two jumprings to the other end of the other length of chain.
STEP 6
Open a 6mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a seahorse bead and the last link of one 4-1/2 inch sterling silver elongated loop with textured link chain so the jumpring rests on the outside of the link. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach a seahorse bead to the other length of chain, also on the outside of the link.
STEP 7
Using the side-cutting pliers, cut a 12-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube, a 1/2-inch piece of French wire and the 6mm jumpring added in Step 4 that is positioned on the inside of the chain. Pass the beading wire back through the crimp tube leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube and fits over the jumpring. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using the side-cutting pliers, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 8
String onto the beading wire:
  • Eight red coral chips
  • One fine silver 14x12mm puffed seashell
  • Four red coral chips
  • One fine silver 14x12mm puffed seashell
  • Three red coral chips
  • One sterling silver 28mm long coral stick
  • Five red coral chips
  • One 17x15mm sterling silver shell bead drop
  • Five red coral chips
  • One sterling silver 28mm long coral stick
  • Three red coral chips
  • One fine silver 14x12mm puffed seashell
  • One fine silver 14x12mm puffed seashell
  • One fine silver 14x12mm puffed seashell
  • Four red coral chips
STEP 9
Pass the beading wire through a crimp tube, a 1/2-inch piece of French wire then through the jumpring attached to the last link of the opposite length of chain positioned on the inside. Pull the wire back through the crimp tube snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jumpring and the French wire is formed into a nicely shaped tube. Make sure there is no slack along the entire length of the necklace, yet not so tight that the strand is rigid. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using side-cutting pliers, trim the excess wire from the end.
STEP 10
Using the side-cutting pliers, cut two 14-inch lengths of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. Repeat Step 6 to attach the both wires to the second jumpring added in Step 4 that is positioned on the outside of the chain but inside the seahorse.
STEP 11
Separate the two wires and string onto each wire six to eight red coral chips (5/8-inch per strand). The amount of chips may vary due to the difference in size of coral chips; make sure the length of chips on each strand is the same. Bring the wires together then string on one sterling silver 29x18mm electroformed coral branch, passing it over both wires.
STEP 12
Separate the strands then repeat Step 10.

Separate the two wires and string onto each wire six to eight red coral chips (approximately 5/8-inch per strand). Bring the wires together then string on one sterling silver 49x27mm electroformed coral branch, passing it over both wires.
STEP 13
String onto the beading wire one of each of the following with six to eight red coral chips on each strand in between each component:
  • One sterling silver 49x27mm electroformed coral branch
  • One sterling silver 49x27mm electroformed coral branch
  • One sterling silver 29x18mm electroformed coral branch
  • One sterling silver 29x18mm electroformed coral branch
STEP 14
Separate the two wires and string onto each wire six to eight red coral chips.
STEP 15
Repeat Step 8 to attach each wire to the second 6mm jumpring attached to the last link of the opposite length of chain.
