Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Copper-Coated Plastic Beads and Focal and Fossil Gemstone Beads

Necklace

STEP 1
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open an 8mm jumpring. Pass the open ring through a loop on the silver-plated acrylic cross. Close the jumpring.
STEP 2
Using flush-cutters, cut a 30-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and an 8mm jumpring. Pass the wire back through the bead and crimp tube, leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 3
String onto the beading wire the following components:
  • One 6mm round light blue fossil bead
  • One 2.5mm round silver-plated bead
  • One 10x10mm square silver acrylic bead
  • One 2.5mm round silver-plated bead
Repeat three times for a total of four sets.
STEP 4

  • One 10x10mm square silver acrylic bead
  • One 2.5mm round silver-plated bead
  • One 6mm round light blue fossil bead
  • One 2.5mm round silver-plated bead
STEP 8
String onto the wire 1/2 inch length of silver-plated French wire and the jumpring attached to the acrylic silver cross. Make sure there is no slack in the beading wire. Pass the beading wire back through all of the beads in Step 7. This will create the bottom of the "Y" in the necklace.
STEP 9
Repeat Steps 6-3, backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand.
STEP 10
String on one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire and an 8mm jumpring. Pass the wire back through the crimp then pull the wire snugly so the crimp and the French wire are closer to the jumpring. Make sure there is no slack along the length of the necklace. Place a small amount of adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end.
STEP 11
Attach the two 8mm jumprings from each side of the strand to the S-Hook clasp.

STEP 1
String onto a headpin: one 3mm round silver plated bead, one 8mm round light blue fossil bead, one 16mm square silver acrylic bead, one 8mm round light blue fossil bead and one 3mm round silver plated bead.

Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a bead drop.

Repeat to create a second bead drop.
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, open the loop on the bottom of an earwire as if opening a jumpring. Pass one of the bead drops onto the open loop. Close the loop.
