Single-Strand Necklace with Lampworked Glass Focal, Czech Glass Beads and Nylon Cord

STEP 1
String one 3mm faceted round olivine bead onto an eyepin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 3mm faceted round olivine beading link. Repeat to create six olivine beading links.

Repeat to create the following:
  • Six 6mm faceted round light blue crystal drops - using one 1-inch headpin and one 6mm faceted round light blue crystal
  • Six 4mm round yellow glass bead drops - using one 1-inch headpin and one 4mm round yellow glass bead
  • Six 5x3mm heart antiqued pewter bead drops - using one 1-inch headpin and one 5x3mm heart antique pewter bead
STEP 2
Open the loop on a heart bead drop. Pass the loop through one of the loops on an olivine beading link. Close the loop.
STEP 3
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a 6mm faceted round light blue crystal drop. Close the jumpring. Repeat to attach a jumpring to each of the six light blue crystal drops.
STEP 4
Using flush-cutters, cut six 7-inch lengths of silver-colored Zebra Wire.
STEP 5
String onto the silver blue cord one blue glass focal piece, placing it in the center.
STEP 6
Measure up the cord 1/2 inch from the focal piece. Place one end of a 7-inch length of wire between the twist on the cord. Using the chain-nose pliers, guide the wire, wrapping it tightly around and against the cord. Continue to wrap the cord for five or six neat wraps.
STEP 7
String onto the wire the loop of one olivine beading link, the jumpring attached to one light blue crystal drop and the loop of one 4mm round yellow glass bead drop.
STEP 8
Continue to wrap the cord for another five or six neat wraps. Use the flush-cutters to cut any excess wire. Tuck the end of the wire against the cord.
STEP 9
Repeat Steps 6-8 to attach a second piece of wire and the link and drops 3/4 inch from the end of the previous wire, and then a third piece of wire and link and drops 3/4 inch from the end of the second wire.
STEP 10
Repeat Steps 6-9 to attach three sets of wire on the opposite side of the focal piece.
