Double-Strand Necklace with Glass Beads and Gold-Plated Links

STEP 1
String one 4mm round gold-plated bead onto a 1-1/2 inch eyepin. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire, creating a 4mm round gold-plated beading link. Repeat to create two 4mm round gold-plated beading links.

Repeat to create the following beading links:
  • Five 6mm round black glass beading links, using one 6mm round black glass and one 1-1/2 inch eyepin
  • Six 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading links, using one 8mm faceted round gold crystal and one 1-1/2 inch eyepin
STEP 2
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, bend two of the petals on a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link to a 70 degree angle. Repeat to bend two petals on ten 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated links.
STEP 3
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 4mm jumpring. Pass the loop through the loop on a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link and a first loop on a second a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link making sure to keep the bent petals on the same side. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach five a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated links together in a chain.

Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the opposite loop on the last a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link and the first loop on the 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link creating a ring.

Repeat to create a second five a 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated five-link ring.
STEP 4
String one 4mm round gold-plated bead, one 35mm flat round black flower glass bead, and one 4mm round gold-plated bead onto a 3-inch eyepin. Using a pair of round-nose pliers, chain-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a 5mm simple loop on the straight end of the wire.

Open the loop and pass it through the center filigree portion of each of the two bent petals on one 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link on the ring.

Open the smaller loop on the beading link and pass it through the jumpring on the opposite side of the 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link ring.

Using a small amount of hypo cement, attach a sixth 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link to the center of the 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link ring on the back side of the 35mm flat round black flower glass bead.
STEP 5
Repeat Step 4 to create a second black flower glass beading link using two 4mm round gold-plated beads, one 25mm flat round black flower glass bead, and two 4mm round gold-plated beads on a 3-inch eyepin and the second 26x20mm filigree flower gold-plated link ring.
STEP 6
Open the 4mm jumpring. Pass the jumpring through the loop on the toggle ring portion of the clasp and the loop on a 4mm round gold-plated beading link. Close the jumpring.
STEP 7
Continue attaching the following components using a 4mm jumpring in between each component:
  • One 6mm round black glass bead link
  • One 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 6mm round black glass bead link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 12x2mm antiqued gold pewter flat round
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
STEP 8
Continue attaching the following components using a 4mm jumpring in between each component:
  • One 25mm flat round black flower glass beading link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 24x17mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading link
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading link
  • One 24x17mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 8mm faceted round gold crystal beading link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 6mm round black glass bead link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 35mm flat round black flower glass beading link
STEP 9
Repeat Step 8 then Step 7, backwards, to create the second half of the strand in a mirror image of the first half of the strand attaching the last 4mm round gold-plated link to the loop on the toggle bar portion of the clasp.
STEP 10
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the bottom loop on the 25mm flat round black flower glass beading link and a 9mm gold-plated jumpring. Close the jumpring.
STEP 11
Continue attaching the following components using a 4mm jumpring in between each component:
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 12x2mm antiqued gold pewter flat round
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
STEP 12
Using the flush-cutters, cut a 14-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire. String onto the wire one crimp tube and a 1/2 inch piece of French wire. Pass the wire through the last 9mm jumpring from Step 11 and back through the crimp tube, leaving one end of the wire approximately 1-inch long. Pull the crimp tight against the French wire and the jumpring so the French wire is formed in a nicely curved tube. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim the excess wire from the short end.
STEP 13
String onto the beading wire the following components:
  • One 7.5mm double dot rondelle antiqued gold bead
  • One 8mm star rondelle antiqued gold bead
  • One 8mm double beaded rondelle antiqued gold bead
  • One 18x15mm pillow multicolor glass bead
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
  • One 18x15mm pillow multicolor glass bead
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
STEP 14
String onto the beading wire the following components:
  • One 8x6 faceted teardrop black glass bead
  • One 4mm jumpring
Repeat fourteen times for a total of fifteen sets. (Leave off the last 4mm jumpring.)
STEP 15
String onto the beading wire the following components:
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
  • One 18x15mm pillow multicolor glass bead
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
  • One 18x15mm pillow multicolor glass bead
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
  • One 18x15mm pillow multicolor glass bead
  • One 7mm round gold-plated bead
  • One 4mm round gold-plated bead
STEP 16
String on one crimp tube, a 1/2 inch piece of French wire. Pass the wire through a 9mm round gold-plated jumpring and back through the crimp tube, pulling the wire tight against the jumpring. Make sure there is no slack along the length of the necklace. Place a small amount of gel adhesive inside the crimp (optional).

Using the crimping pliers, crimp the crimp tube. Using flush-cutters, trim excess wire from the end.
STEP 17
Continue attach the following components to the 9mm gold-plated jumpring using a 4mm jumpring in between each component:
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 12x2mm antiqued gold pewter flat round
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
  • One 18x13mm gold-plated open oval link
  • One 9mm gold-plated jumpring
STEP 18
Open a 4mm jumpring. Pass it through the bottom loop on the 35mm flat round black flower glass beading link and the last 9mm gold-plated jumpring from Step 17. Close the jumpring.
