Choker-Style Necklace and Earring Set with Wood Beads, Seed Beads and Suede Lace Cord

STEP 1
Using memory wire shears cut five 1.75 loop (13-inch) lengths of 3.625-inch silver memory wire.

Using scissors cut one 18-inch length and twenty-seven 1-3/4 inch lengths of turquoise suede lace cord.
STEP 2
Using hole punch pliers, punch five holes in one 1-3/4 inch lengths of turquoise suede lace cord at 1/8 inch, 1/2 inch, 7/8 inch, 1-1/4 inches and 1-5/8 inches on the suede. Repeat to punch five holes in each of the twenty-seven lengths of suede lace cord.
STEP 3
String one #8 turquoise blue seed bead, one yellow triangle wood bead and one #8 turquoise blue seed bead onto a headpin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire creating a yellow triangle wood bead drop. Repeat to create a total of five yellow triangle wood bead drops.

Repeat to create five dark blue triangle wood bead drops using one #8 turquoise blue seed bead, one blue dark triangle wood bead, one #8 turquoise blue seed bead and a headpin.

Necklace

STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, create a loop on the end of a 13-inch length of silver memory wire.
STEP 5
String onto the memory wire the following components:
  • One light purple triangle wood bead
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One dark pink triangle wood bead
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One orange triangle wood bead
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One yellow triangle wood bead
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One dark blue triangle wood bead
  • One 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
Repeat four times for a total of five sets.
STEP 6
String onto the memory wire the following components:
  • One light purple triangle wood bead
  • 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One dark pink triangle wood bead
  • 1-3/4 inch length of turquoise blue suede (first hole)
  • One orange triangle wood bead
STEP 7
Finish the end of the memory wire with a simple loop.
STEP 8
Repeat Steps 4 - 7 four times to create the second through fifth strands on the choker passing the wire through the corresponding holes on the turquoise blue suede lace cord sections.
STEP 9
Using scissors cut one 3-yard length of smoke FireLine® thread. String a beading needle onto the thread.
STEP 10
Pass the end of the thread through the loop on the fifth stand of memory wire (next to the first purple bead). Tie an overhand knot at the end of the thread. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite® 409 Gel) on the knot (optional).
STEP 11
String onto the thread the following components:
  • Twenty #8 opaque turquoise seed beads
  • One yellow flat round wood bead
  • One #8 opaque turquoise seed bead
Pass the thread back up through the yellow flat round wood bead and twelve #8 opaque turquoise seed beads.

Separate the strand back out and string onto the thread eight #8 opaque turquoise seed beads.

Pass the thread over the memory wire between the first fuchsia and orange triangle wood beads.

Repeat the pattern going around the bottom edge of the fifth strand of memory wire changing the flat round wood bead in a yellow, pink, orange, blue, purple pattern; bring the thread around the memory wire every two wood beads.

Pass the thread through the last orange wood bead. Tie an overhand knot at the end of the thread to secure the strand in place. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot (optional).
STEP 12
Repeat Steps 9 and 10 to attach a length of thread to the fifth strand of memory wire next to the first dark pink bead.
STEP 13
String onto the thread the following components:
  • Fifteen #8 opaque turquoise seed beads
  • One yellow flat round wood bead
  • One #8 opaque turquoise seed bead
Pass the thread back up through the yellow flat round wood bead and seven #8 opaque turquoise seed beads.

Separate the strand back out and string onto the thread eight #8 opaque turquoise seed beads.

Pass the thread over the memory wire to the left side of the first orange triangle wood bead.

Repeat the pattern going around the bottom edge of the fifth strand of memory wire changing the flat round wood bead in a blue, yellow, purple, pink, orange pattern; bring the thread around the memory wire every two wood beads.

Pass the thread over the memory wire to the right side of the last fuchsia wood bead. Tie an overhand knot at the end of the thread to secure the strand in place. Place a small amount of adhesive on the knot (optional).
STEP 14
Open the loop on a dark blue triangle wood bead drop. Pass it through the loop on the first end of the memory wire next to the purple wood beads. Close the loop. Repeat to attach a dark blue triangle wood bead drop on each of the five memory wire strands.

Repeat to attach a yellow triangle wood bead drop on each of the five memory wire strands on the opposite end of the necklace next to the orange wood beads.
STEP 15
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the top loop on the first strand of memory wire. Close the jumpring.

Repeat to attach a 7mm jumpring to the opposite top loop on the first strand of memory wire.
STEP 16
Pass the 18-inch length of turquoise suede through the two jumprings. Tie the suede in a bow.

Earrings

STEP 1
Using scissors cut twelve 1-inch lengths of turquoise suede lace cord.
STEP 2
Using hole punch pliers, punch one hole 1/8 inch from the end of a 1-inch length of turquoise suede lace cord. Repeat to punch one hole in each of the twelve lengths of suede lace cord.
STEP 3
String one #8 turquoise blue seed bead, one yellow flat round wood bead and six #8 turquoise blue seed beads onto a headpin. Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters, form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire creating a yellow flat round wood bead drop. Repeat to create a total of two yellow flat round wood bead drops, two dark blue flat round wood bead drops, two purple flat round wood bead drops, two dark pink flat round wood bead drops and two orange flat round wood bead drops.
STEP 4
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers, open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the hole on two suede lace cord strips and the loop on an earwire. Close the jumpring.

Open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a purple flat round wood bead drop, a dark blue flat round wood bead drop and the first 7mm jumpring between the two suede lace cord strips. Close the jumpring.

Open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the hole on two suede lace cord strips and the last 7mm jumpring between the purple flat round wood bead drop and the dark blue flat round wood bead drop. Close the jumpring.

Open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a yellow flat round wood bead drop, an orange flat round wood bead drop and the last 7mm jumpring between the two suede lace cord strips. Close the jumpring.

Open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the hole on two suede lace cord strips and the last 7mm jumpring between the yellow flat round wood bead drop and the orange flat round wood bead drop. Close the jumpring.

Open a 7mm jumpring. Pass it through the loop on a dark pink flat round wood bead drop and the last 7mm jumpring between the two suede lace cord strips. Close the jumpring.

Repeat Step 4 to create the second earring.
