Pendant with Polymer Clay, Swarovski® Crystals and Czech Glass Beads

STEP 1
With the green polymer clay, roll a ball about the size of a small hard-boiled egg yolk.

Using your fingers, press the ball into the shape of the 41x31mm oval bezel cup focal. Press the clay into the bezel focal.

Tips:
  • The Poly Bonder™ glue can be used at this point to help adhere the clay to the bezel focal.
  • It may be necessary to condition the polymer clay depending upon the brand used.
  • Use the ''Blending Colors in Polymer'' chart by Donna Kato for more information.
STEP 2
Create a mossy texture to the clay by using the sharp pointed end of the clay carving tool. This can be done all over the clay or in sections of your choice by ''scribbling'' with the tool.

Making the Leaves

STEP 3
With the green clay, roll a ball approximately half the size of a standard pea. Pinch one end and then roll with your fingers until there is a point.

Press the clay between your fingers flattening the clay making a leaf shape.
STEP 4
Using the sharp pointed end of the clay carving tool, make a line down the center of the leaf. Make diagonal lines going down to the point of the leaf from the line made down the center creating the veins of the leaf.

Tip: Changing the line pattern of the leaves will add dimension and uniqueness.
STEP 5
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to create a total of five leaves.
STEP 6
Press the sides of the rounded end of one leaf gently inward making more of a natural leaf shape. Place the leaf onto the clay toward the bottom of the bezel focal (the opposite end from the loop on the bezel). Press the rounded end of the leaf into the clay using the rounded curved end of the clay carving tool.

Repeat using the remaining leaves creating a leaf cluster.
