Earrings with Vitrium® Clay, Glitter and Seed Beads

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut twelve 1/2 inch lengths of gold color 26-gauge Zebra Wire™.
STEP 2
Using a pair of round-nose pliers form a small hook on one end of one 1/2 inch length of wire.

Repeat creating a small hook to a total of twelve lengths of wire.
STEP 3
Dip the straight end of one 1/2 inch length of wire into a small amount of Mod Podge® Gloss-Lustre glue sealer. String onto the end of the wire one Miyuki glass color-lined luster red #15 rocaille seed bead creating a seed-beaded wire.

Repeat to create a total of twelve seed-beaded wires. Set lengths of wire aside and allow them to dry completely.

Tip: Gently curve the seed-beaded wire pieces or trim to different lengths to simulate flower stamen.
STEP 4
Separate a piece of Vitrium clay approximately the size of a large marble. Using a yellow felt-tipped marker, dot the clay several times. Repeat to add a few dots of orange marker to create a peach color.

Knead the clay until the color is uniform.
STEP 5
Separate the clay into approximately twenty-two small pieces forming each piece into a petal shape with your fingers.

Tip: Place clay not being worked in a plastic bag to keep it from drying out too soon. Mist with a bit of water if needed.
STEP 6
Arrange one layer of petals (approximately five petals) into a flower shape, holding the center of the flower together with your fingers. Place a small amount of Vitrium Clear Protectant sealant in the center of the flower to secure the petals together.

Repeat to add a second layer of petals (approximately six petals) on top of the previous layer and set aside.
STEP 7
Repeat Step 6 to create a second flower component.
STEP 8
Separate a piece of clay approximately the size of a small marble. Repeat Step 1 using a green marker and form approximately four leaves.
STEP 9
Place two leaves on the back side of the flower component.
STEP 10
Separate a piece of clay approximately the size of a small marble. Repeat Step 1 using an orange marker and a small amount of yellow marker to color the clay. Divide the piece into two separate balls.
STEP 11
Press one orange ball into the center of the front of the flower component. Texture the center of the flower creating small dots with the end of a toothpick.
STEP 12
Press the hook end of one seed-beaded wire into the center of the clay flower component so it sticks out of the center. Repeat to arrange a total of six seed-beaded wires around the center of the flower component.
STEP 13
Repeat Steps 10 - 12 to complete the second flower component.
STEP 14
Allow flower components to dry for 24 hours.
STEP 15
Using an artist brush apply Mod Podge to the petals, leaves and center of one flower component. Sprinkle glitter onto the Mod Podge and allow to dry.
STEP 16
Using a spare piece of polymer clay create a ball and press it onto a flat work surface. Press the post of one gold-plated 10mm flat pad earstud into the clay so the flat pad is level.
STEP 17
Mix a small amount of Devcon® 5 Minute® Epoxy.
STEP 18
Apply epoxy to the flat pad of the earstud and a small amount to the back of the glittery flower component. Press the flower component onto the flat pad. Allow to dry fully.
STEP 19
Repeat Steps 15 - 18 to finish the second flower earring.
