Single-Strand Necklace and Earring Set with Swarovski Crystal, Cupchain and Apoxie® Sculpt

Necklace

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters cut the following:
  • One 19-inch length of Accu-Flex® professional-quality beading wire
  • Five 6-inch lengths of beading wire
  • Three 1/2 inch lengths of enamel-coated French wire
  • Four 4-3/4 inch lengths of glass rhinestone clear 2mm cupchain

Swarovski and Apoxie Bead

STEP 2
Mix equal amounts of the Apoxie Sculpt (equaling approximately the size of a large grape) for two minutes, or until thoroughly blended.

Divide Apoxie into two sections and place onto a non-stick surface. Roll one section into a ball and the other into a snake shape.
STEP 3
Place the Apoxie ball between one Swarovski crystal glacier blue 30mm round flat back and one Swarovski peridot 30mm round flat back (back to back) and press together. Place the Apoxie snake shape around the previous Apoxie, between the two flat backs, and press the ends of the snake together. Press Apoxie between the two flat backs until it is flush with the edges of the flat backs.
STEP 4
Push the sharp end of a piercing pin trough the center of the Apoxie between the two flat backs creating a bead.
STEP 5
Wrap one length of cupchain around the very edge of the Apoxie where it meets one flat back. Place the end of the cupchain as close to the beginning as possible and press cupchain into the Apoxie to secure.
STEP 6
Beginning at the edge of one hole on one end of the bead, press the cupchain along the previous cupchain; to the hole on the opposite end of the bead. Using flush-cutters trim the cupchain. Repeat to attach cupchain to the opposite side of the bead.

Repeat using the third length of cupchain next to the previous cupchain.
STEP 7
Repeat Step 5 to add cupchain along the edge of the opposite flat back.

Set aside and allow 24 hours for complete hardening.

Swarovski Pendant

STEP 8
Separate two of the following from the rest of the beads:
  • Swarovski crystal AB 8x3mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski rose 8x3mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski vitrail 8x3mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski peridot glacier blue 8x3mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski crystal AB 6x2mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski rose 6x2mm marguerite flowers
  • Swarovski vitrail 6x2mm marguerite flowers
STEP 9
String onto one 6-inch length of beading wire one sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead.

Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite®) inside the crimp (optional). Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Using flush-cutters trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Place one gunmetal-plated 4mm crimp cover over the crimp bead then gently close it.
STEP 10
String onto the beading wire five of the remaining Swarovski 8x3mm marguerite flowers in random order, adding a gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi between each.

String one gunmetal-plated 2mm round crimp (do not crimp) after the last 8x3mm marguerite flower. Continue to string seven of the remaining Swarovski 6x2mm marguerite flowers in random order, adding a gunmetal-plated 2mm round crimp between each.

Place a Bead Stopper™ on the end of the beading wire to secure.
STEP 11
Repeat Steps 9 and 10 on each of the remaining 6-inch lengths of beading wire.
STEP 12
Separate eight Swarovski crystal electra 4mm bicones and seven gunmetal-plated 4mm rounds. Remove the Bead Stopper from one 6-inch length of beading wire and string three beads in a random order.

Repeat to string three beads onto each 6-inch length of beading wire.
STEP 13
Gather the 6-inch lengths together and string the following:
  • One antiqued pewter 6x4mm floral rondelle
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 12x4mm marguerite flower
  • One sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead
Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional). Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Do not trim the ends of the wire. Place one gunmetal-plated 4mm crimp cover over the crimp bead then gently close it.
STEP 14
Continue to string onto the gathered lengths:
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 12x4mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
  • One sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead
Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional). Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Separate one length of beading wire then using flush-cutters trim the excess from the short ends of the other lengths.
STEP 15
String the following onto the remaining strand:
  • The Swarovski and Apoxie bead
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 12x4mm marguerite flower
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 10x3.5mm marguerite flower
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 8x3mm marguerite flower
  • One sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead
  • One 1/2 inch length of French wire
STEP 16
Pass the beading wire back through the crimp bead. Pull the beading wire so the crimp rests snug against the French wire leaving approximately 1/4 inch of beading wire on the end. Place a small amount of adhesive (Loctite) inside the crimp (optional).

Using crimping pliers crimp the crimp bead. Using flush-cutters trim the excess from the short end of the beading wire. Place one gunmetal-plated 4mm crimp cover over the crimp bead then gently close it.

Necklace Assembly

STEP 17
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers open two gunmetal-plated 4.5mm jumprings.

Pass one jumpring through the loop on one gunmetal-plated lobster claw clasp. Close the jumpring.

Pass one 4mm jumpring through one gunmetal-plated 6mm jumpring and close.
STEP 18
String onto the beading wire one sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead, one 1/2 inch lengths of French wire and the jumpring attached to the lobster claw clasp then repeat Step 15 to secure.
STEP 19
String the following onto the beading wire:
  • One Swarovski crystal electra 6mm bicone
  • Repeat this sequence to string a total of two sets:
    • One gunmetal-plated 8mm rimmed round
    • One Swarovski rose AB 6mm round
    • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
    • One Swarovski crystal electra 6mm bicone

    • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
    • One Swarovski peridot 6mm round
    • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
    • One Swarovski rose AB 6mm round

    • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
    • One Swarovski crystal electra 6mm bicone
    • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
    • One Swarovski peridot 6mm round
  • One gunmetal-plated 8mm rimmed round
  • One Swarovski crystal AB 6x2mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
  • One Swarovski rose 6x2mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
  • One Swarovski vitrail 6x2mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round

  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 12x4mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm heishi
  • One Swarovski vitrail 10x3.5mm marguerite flower

STEP 20
Continue to string the French wire loop from the Swarovski pendant then repeat the stringing sequence in Step 19 in the opposite direction to string the second half of the necklace.

String onto the beading wire one sterling silver 2x2mm crimp bead, one 1/2 inch lengths of French wire and the jumpring attached to the 6mm jumpring then repeat Step 16 to secure.

Earrings

STEP 1
Using flush-cutters trim the fold-over flaps off two gunmetal-plated cord ends.

Cut four 4-inch lengths of glass rhinestone clear 2mm cupchain.
STEP 2
Mix equal amounts of the Apoxie Sculpt (equaling approximately the size of a medium grape) for two minutes, or until thoroughly blended.

Divide Apoxie into two sections and place onto a non-stick surface. Roll one section into a ball and the other into a snake shape.
STEP 3
Place the Apoxie ball between two Swarovski crystal glacier blue 20mm round flat back (back to back) and press together. Place the Apoxie snake shape around the previous Apoxie, between the two flat backs, and press the ends of the snake together.

Press one cord end into the Apoxie until only the loop sticks out above the two edges of the flat back. Press Apoxie between the two flat backs until it is flush with the edges of the flat backs and covering the body of the cord end.
STEP 4
Beginning on one side of the cord end loop wrap one length of cupchain around the very edge of the Apoxie where it meets one flat back. Place the end of the cupchain as close to the opposite side of the loop as possible and press cupchain into the Apoxie to secure.

Repeat to add cupchain along the edge of the opposite flat back.
STEP 5
Repeat Steps 2 - 4 to create a second Swarovski pendant.

Set aside and allow 24 hours for complete hardening.
STEP 6
String the following onto one gunmetal-plated 2-1/2 inch eyepin:
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
  • One Swarovski peridot glacier blue 10x3mm marguerite flower
  • One Swarovski crystal satin 8x3mm marguerite flower
  • One Swarovski rose 6x2mm marguerite flower
  • One gunmetal-plated 4mm round
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and flush-cutters form a simple loop on the straight end of the wire creating a marguerite link.

Repeat to create a total of two marguerite links.
STEP 7
Using a pair of chain-nose pliers and flat-nose pliers open one gunmetal-plated 4mm jumpring.

Pass the jumpring through the loop on one Swarovski pendant and the loop on the 10mm marguerite side of the marguerite link. Close the jumpring.
STEP 8
Open the loop on one gunmetal-plated leverback earwire. Pass the loop through the loop on the opposite end of the Swarovski link and close.
STEP 9
Repeat Steps 7 and 8 to create a second earring.
