Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Quezon City, Philippines

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
I am inspired by my family as well as by nature. However, anything can spark me from making a simple to an eclectic jewelry.

What medium do you work with mostly?
I experimented with different types of media but later I developed a passion for working with wires such as copper, sterling silver or gold filled, incorporating precious gems and pearls.

Why did you become enchanted with this style of jewelry-making?
Wire working only needs simple tools but can give you an array of opportunities to create a beautiful artful jewelry. I also find the techniques of wire wrapping, wire weaving, wire crochet and knitting with wires as a challenging and intriguing form of jewelry making for it needs my creativity to work. The good thing about this art is it is so versatile that once you learn the basics you can develop your own technique and put your mark on the art. Most of the jewelries I make are freeform which means that I don't have a pattern to follow but only a preconceived idea. The expected outcome is never determined until I finish it.

Where and How do you sell your jewelry?
I am just starting to sell my jewelries online through my website. But I plan to make etsy or eBay as my marketing arm in the near future. My website is: www.jewelrytwistbycyndi.com

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Love Knot

What inspired this design?
I made this necklace on the day of our 26th wedding anniversary. This stunning necklace reminds me of our 26 years of unbreakable strength of love. The knot is a symbol of strength. It is a constant reminder that love is the foundation on which all things rest. It is a symbol that through good times and bad times the strength of your love will never waiver.

How did it come together?
I had a vision in my head on how to start with this project and everything just followed.
