What inspires you as a designer-artist? I am inspired by nature and the things around me.

What inspired this design? I made a "charm" bracelet because I was practicing my wire loops. It turned into a necklace. Then another necklace…
How did it come together? For example, did you plan it out or did it define itself once you began working? I usually have somewhat of a plan, but the finished product usually just happens.
Share Your Background
When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading? About 5 years ago I began as a beader but did not think that the finished product would be career. One year ago I picked up polymer clay and things changed drastically for me, including the finished project and the creativity.
Who introduced you to beading? I am self-taught.
Do you have an artistic background? I am self-taught.
How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®? Through a friend.
What other hobbies do you have? Painting, volunteer work and spending time with my granddaughter.
What role does jewelry-making play in your life? While in the middle of each new project, I am thinking and planning the next. This is a full-time career for me.
If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry? I teach jewelry classes. I also use social networking, website and art fairs.
Do you participate in any charity fundraisers? I would love to eventually but thus far I have not had the opportunity.
Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists? Learn all that you can. Play with new products, findings and beads until you find your niche.
