Coral Reef
Meet the Designer-Artist

Where do you live?
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 1 yr. (moved from Las Vegas after 31 years.)

Describe your artistic style.
Free style mostly, love nature like Heidi Kummli.

What inspires you as a designer-artist?
Love to do bead embroidery, love to find a stone with bright colors.

What materials do you most enjoy working with?
Stones and copper.

What is the name of the piece you submitted with your success story?
Coral Reef

What inspired this design?
The stone in the middle looks like a coral reef to me, the colors and shapes. It is like you can almost see life on the corals ...

How did it come together?
Just started with the stone and added pieces in the middle of my table ... Love to pour a little bit of different stuff and it comes together by itself ...

Share Your Background

When and how did you begin making jewelry/beading?

Who introduced you to beading?
Always been crafty, but love the stones so it was stones I guess.

Do you have an artistic background?
Yes, ever since a child.

How did you discover Fire Mountain Gems and Beads®?
Beading magazines.

What other hobbies do you have?
Polymer clay.

Beading Success

What role does jewelry-making play in your life?
Working with copper calms me, I have anxiety, and working with seed beads.

If you used jewelry-making as a way to bring in income, how are you selling yourself and your jewelry?
I have a website now: lovelycreations.net just started it not too long ago.

Do you participate in any charity fundraisers?
Yes, I did a few at work.

Any advice for aspiring jewelry-artists?
Work with what makes you happy ... I can't always bead anything, I have to be inspired by the stone or copper.
