In addition to taking care of us, most Moms also took care of the house, the food shopping and paying the bills. They also cleaned, folded and put away the laundry and tended to the never-ending chores of cooking dinner then cleaning up. And even though I was raised to appreciate how much my Mom did for me each day, I'm sure my thanks didn't cover half of what she really did.
|Mother's Day is a wonderful opportunity to do something special for your Mom and jewelry is a wonderful way to convey your love and appreciation for all she has done for you. Whether it's a gift for her or something you wear in her honor, using words makes your message clear. Words can be in the form of sayings that commemorate her or her life accomplishments to the names of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.|
|Customize your special words using metal punches that make it easy to apply letters neatly in metal clay or in metal sheet and blanks. Add in a bit of color with crystals or gemstone beads to represent the birthstone of each child, grandchild and great grandchild. Does your Mom like wire, chain, beaded strands--a bracelet, necklace, earrings? Use these ideas to springboard your design direction, and then incorporate your metal components and birthstone colors for a design that is tailor made for your Mom.|
