What is the most secure way to attach an eye pin or head pin to a design?

This is always a designer's challenge! I have found the most secure way of attaching eye pins and head pins is with a wrapped loop or maybe a simple loop.

Because wrapped loops add extra length and bulk at the attachment point, you may prefer to use a simple loop. While simple loops aren't as secure as wrapped loops, since they do not completely close, they will work well for attaching dangles to designs that will be worn occasionally, such as special occasion pieces.
