How can I hang a gemstone donut on a length of cording without using a donut bail?

You can hang any donut or large-hole bead onto cording by using a lark's head knot (shown below). Finish the ends of the cord with suitably sized crimp tubes with loop, or beading cones, each finished with a clasp of your choice.
