Titanium is a biocompatible metal that is good for most people with a nickel allergy. It is frequently used for joint replacements.

Titanium is a very strong and lustrous metal; however, working with it presents challenges. Titanium can't be soldered and tools can easily mar its surface.

Choose techniques such as wire wrapping that don't involve soldering. Use nylon jaw pliers or dip your tools into Tool Magic® prior to working with titanium, to prevent scratching the surface. Fingerprints and lint can be easily removed with an ammoniated glass cleaner and a soft dry towel. Mild detergent will remove traces of skin oil that can dull colors.
