I want to make my own ear wires. My "affordable" jewelry is made with sterling silver-plated wire that has a clear tarnish-resistant coating. Is this kind of wire "safe" to use as ear wires?
- Wendy
Yes, the wire you are using is safe for most people. There are many people with sensitivities who may find this metal creates an allergic reaction; niobium and precious metals are usually more suitable for people with sensitivities. If possible, keep earwires on hand in the other metals so you can make a quick switch at sale time.
